Small space, big impact. The homeowners of this townhouse condominium wanted to maximize their space while maintaining the open living feel of a coastal home.

Inspired Renovations and Additions. This southern Maine charmer started as a quintessential summer cottage. As part of the comprehensive renovation the original cottage building was lifted and moved to accommodate a new foundation and the larger footprint of the new addition.
The home featured elements that the homeowners wanted to keep and showcase in the new design. Gorgeous fir bannisters and railings of the main stairway were retained and much of the renovation was designed around this stately focal point. original fir panels were repurposed in the new mudroom.
The fireplace features 1 x 8 cement board milled to mimic the 1 x 8 original shadow gap above. For aesthetic continuity we reutilized the straight-grain fir flooring. For walls we repurposed 1 x 4 straight-grain v-matched straight grain fir wall finish which we complemented with new shadow gap walls.
Here, the past meets the present, beautifully.
